Can you help Battersea?

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are looking for people who can find a place in their hearts and homes to provide temporary care for their dogs and cats who are most in need of some home comforts while they find them the right, permanent owners.

Many of the thousands of animals who come through Battersea’s gates every year would benefit from time away from one of their three centres in a domestic environment while they find them new families.

Battersea are looking for people who live within an easy driving distance to one of our centres in London, Kent and Berkshire to provide this invaluable support for dogs who are looking for that second chance in a happy home.

Find out more about dog fostering for Battersea here.

RIP Bellamy

Friday, September 12th, 2014

Bellamy was a blood donor who had collected thousands of pounds for charity. He supported many charities including Battersea, Animal Health Trust, Pupaid and Variety children's charity. Bellamy had starred in commercials, documentaries, a theatrical production and our Paw Pageants.

It is with very sad news that we announce that Blue Great Dane Bellamy is no longer with us.

Looking terrific in tweed

Tipped as one of the top three events by Metro & Time Out to visit over the recent bank holiday weekend, this year’s Paw Pageant event certainly didn’t disappoint.

The Paw Pageant is LoveMyDog’s annual fund raiser for The Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and despite it raining cats and dogs all day, proved to be a real hit. (more…)

Battersea’s reunion day

Monday, September 17th, 2012

LoveMyDog’s Creative Director Lilly Shahravesh was one of the judges at Battersea’s recent reunion day.

Held at Battersea Park, the day was great fun with lots of people out to enjoy the weather and support the great work Battersea does in rehoming so many dogs and cats.

Joining Lilly in the ‘Handsomest Dog Category’ was Battersea’s vet Phil (recognise him from the telly?), Fiona (a nutritionist from Burns) and a Pearly King & Queen. The final judge was David Levy from The Stafford Magazine, who is also a judge of championship shows.

The winning dog was a gorgeous fawn coloured staffie called Scully. Congratulations Scully!

Spitalfield’s Paw Pageant

Thursday, August 30th, 2012

Rabbit and the team at LoveMyDog would like to say a massive thank you to all those who came along to support Spitalfield’s 2012 Paw Pageant on Monday. The event was in aid of Battersea Dogs and Cats home who do a fantastic job reuniting lost dogs and cats, or caring for them until new homes can be found.

We were supported on Twitter by some famous dog lovers, including Jonathan Ross, Chris O’Dowd, Gabby Logan and Lisa Snowdon.

The Paw Pageant opened up with the LoveMyDog A/W dog fashion show. In total we had 18 pretty pooches and handsome hounds modelling for us, representing breeds from Miniature Dachshunds (brothers Ted & Keith) to Great Dane father and son, Bellamy & Puppy.

The Paw Pageant followed and was judged by Anna Webb (BBC Barking at the moon), Sara White from StyleTails and LoveMyDog’s creative director Lilly Shahravesh.

Congratulations to Flora the Akita, who won ‘Best Bitch in the Ditch’, and Betty the Bulldog whose raffle ticket won her a hamper filled with £1000 worth of LoveMyDog canine couture goodies.
