It is with very sad news that we announce that Blue Great Dane Bellamy is no longer with us.
Bellamy was a blood donor who had collected thousands of pounds for charity. He supported many charities including Battersea, Animal Health Trust, Pupaid and Variety children’s charity. Bellamy had starred in commercials, documentaries, a theatrical production and our Paw Pageants.
Bellamy’s owner Sharon & Stuart have written a poem to celebrate his life:
Bellamy (a thesaurus of emotion)
A tribute to Bellamy our Blue Great DaneIt is in deep shock I write this down
In a cauldron of emotions I spin and drown
To my thesaurus we turn to express our grief
Bellamy has gone and beyond our beliefLaid-back, easy-going seems apt to show
His incomparable temperament many will know
Tender, loyal shows his unwavering love
The perfect match like a hand in gloveHero, guardian to make us secure
An alert deep bark, we were safe for sure
Regal, handsome a judge would know
Posing for pictures or Crufts ring to showGenerous, giving, helping others to thrive
Supporting many charities, so good, so alive
Loving, affectionate his role just to please
He delighted in our caresses and a gentle squeezeTen thousand words yet cannot suffice
For loving you so much grief pays the price
We will miss your presence, devotion and love
May you be blessed forever in a heaven above
LoveMyDog’s Creative Director adds “Bellamy has been with us from the beginning of our Paw Pageant Battersea fundraiser events at Old Spitalfieds. I just can’t imagine him not being there at the next event. It was incredibly sad we lost his son Puppy earlier this year. It’s a great shock for all of us, especially as he’s helped us raise so much for Battersea during the past three years”

Our thoughts are with Sharon and Stuart during this difficult time.
