Teddy

Thursday, May 24th, 2012

We were very sorry to hear of the tragic death of little Teddy, who was killed instantly on May 4th when he  was hit by a car. Teddy was a very special little puppy, who really won our hearts when he came into the studio for his first coat, collar and lead.

We weren’t the only ones to be won over by his big personality, as Teddy’s owner Hannah has been inundated with messages of support. “He touched so many people’s lives’, said Hannah. Our thoughts are with his family, who have expressly asked us to commemorate Teddy’s short but joyful life here.

The Animal Auction Rescue Group

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

Set up by Linzi Tropea and Michelle Southworth in October last year, The Animal Auction Rescue Group raises funds to help rescue dogs.

The group has a strict criteria that each rescue has to meet to make sure money goes to responsible rescues and is used for what it was intended. Every dog rescued must be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before going to a new home. All homes must be checked and the rescue must offer 100% back up should the animal need returned for whatever reason.

The Animal Auction Rescue Group now has an additional three admins in Fiona Reid, Patsy Serjeant and Diane Holcroft and has raised over £9000 to date. LoveMyDog is proud to support the group and recently donated a Thornproof dog blanket and some Poo Poo bags for an auction. If you would like to place a bid on any items you can join The Animal Auction Group via Facebook here.

Pippa

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

Losing a loved one is always painful. But time can be a great healer, and help you enjoy and remember the good times you shared. We received this touching mail last week so wanted to share it here.

Dear Love My Dog,
Ive been meaning to send some photos to you for ages and ages but things get so hectic and before you know it the months have flown by. I bought Pippa a red Wilmot jumper a couple of years ago just in time for the snowy weather. She really appreciated it I can tell you and she looked so beautiful and warm. Also being brightly coloured meant i could see her when she would have a mad moment and run quite a distance in our local park!

Unfortunately she died of pancreatitis in August 2011 aged 12 but i would really love you to put her picture in your gallery. Im sure that you would agree that this jumper really suited her. Myself and partner will be getting another fox terrier and also a welsh terrier and so will be in touch again I’m sure to buy more Wilmot jumpers as being by the coast they will definitely need jumpers!

Many thanks,
Lorretta

So thank you for your letter Lorretta. We look forward to seeing some photos of your new terriers after your move to Brighton.

Corgis spotted at Selfridges

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

Has one mislaid one’s dogs?

These lifesize corgis have been spotted in Selfridges recently, complete with headscarves and pearls. We’re not sure if they’re there to celebrate the upcoming Queen’s Jubilee or if they just happen share Rabbit’s love of designer shopping. Either way they look fab. Perhaps we should roll out a limited edition Royal Collection this year?

Comfy fabrics

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

As a working studio there’s always lots going on at LoveMyDog but recently it would seem we have a new designer on our hands/paws. Rabbit, the studio muse, finds the fabrics we use so comfortable that he keeps making a bed out of the offcuts from the cutting table! His designs are slowly improving but if your pooch is after a bed (we use springy thermo-regulating filling for outstanding comfort) we would suggest that you try one of these luxury dog beds for now.

Yip

Tracy Brown’s appliqué pop art combines her interest in graphic design and working with fabric. She combines carefully chosen fabrics to capture the essence of her subjects in a way that is both fun and true to life and has previously exhibited at the local Brick Lane Gallery.

We certainly love this fun picture. Tracy Brown does take commissions, so perhaps we should send her a picture of Rabbit and some LoveMyDog Harris Tweed fabric?

Open Studio

Monday, November 28th, 2011

The LoveMyDog studio opened its doors for another ‘Open Studio’ on Saturday. Thanks to all those who came along and said hello. Rabbit made lots of new friends and we hope that all the wagging tails meant that lots of dogs were happy with their new sweaters, coats, collars and leads.

Barking at the Moon

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Anna Webb from the BBC Radio team Barking at the Moon came along to the LoveMyDog studio last week. Lilly & Rabbit were very excited about the visit and we all thought Anna’s minature bull terrier Molly was adorable!

Barking at the Moon is the dedicated dog slot on the radio. Presenters Jo and Anna discuss the latest books, films, gadgets through to tackling burning issues in the dog world!

Their guests have ranged from Bryan Adams to elusive fashion guru Kath Kidson, as well as many top journalists and authors. You can listen to the show every Thursday from 10pm on BBC London 94.9FM.
