Dog tired with Dawn Porter and Chris O’Dowd

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Journalist, presenter, book-writer (we could go on) Dawn Porter and her fiance Chris O’Dowd (IT Crowd and Bridesmaids star) announced their engagement through Twitter back in December.

Dawn has also recently posted photos of their dog Potato and cat Lilu who look very cute curled up asleep together. They apparently have about three beds each but insist on the one pictured above with Dawn saying that “they love it”.

The bed in question is the ultimate in hand-crafted luxury, a LoveMyDog Appleby dog bed. It’s edged with one of our luxury Harris Tweed fabrics, with a hard-wearing fleece top and bottom. We make the beds here in London, cutting and pinning the fabric and finally sewing on the appliqué details all by hand.

Potato also has a matching Harris Tweed blanket and an Elwin dog coat. Dawn describes the dog bed as “Amazing, it’s so gorgeous” whilst Chris says it “Looks amazing. What a lucky bastard”.

If you’re on Twitter you can follow Dawn, Chris and our very own Rabbit.

Guardian Weekend

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Merlin the Chihuahua starred on the Guardian Weekend’s glossy front cover modeling a LoveMyDog Rivington Collar.

The shot was used to highlight John Lanchester’s article about why the super-rich love the UK. Apparently in 1990, to come in the top 200 of the Sunday Times’s annual rich list, you needed £50m. Now you need £430m!

If you ask us, it certainly makes the Rivington collection look like excellent value for money. Now where did Rabbit put the keys to that Ferrari?

When Katy met Uggie

Monday, February 27th, 2012

It’s no surprise that Rabbit’s favourite character from Oscar winning film ‘The Artist’ is Uggie. Lovable Jack Russell terrier Uggie has won a legion of fans recently, including Katy Perry who tweeted the picture above after a recent meeting at the exclusive Soho House in West Hollywood.

Katy’s original tweet about the pic read “Catch of the day! Uggie from “The Artist” (not the guy in the background!)”. If you’re on Twitter you can follow Katy here and our own star Rabbit here.

Kate’s Royal Cocker Spaniel

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge became the proud parents of a Cocker Spaniel earlier this year. Although we could tell the breed easily enough, the pooch’s name was guarded more closely than the Crown Jewels!

Kate was at a school in Oxford yesterday to help promote The Art Room, a charity that encourages confidence in disadvantaged children. She was given a cuddly toy dog by pupils and said she would name it after her dog. The name was confirmed as Lupo, which means Wolf in Italian.

It would appear that Lupo already has his own Twitter account. His latest tweet? “Morning walkies in Kensington Gardens. Will get those damn ducks one day! Where’s my biscuits? Duchy Originals – only the best for me”

Caroline Flack and Jeffrey

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack has been in the news recently following her split from One Direction singer Harry Styles. One chap who has put a smile back on her face is Jeffrey, pictured with Caroline in the photo above. It’s not clear if Jeffrey is Caroline’s new dog, but she did describe him via her Twitter profile as “the new love of my life”. If you ask Rabbit, he thinks Jeffrey is impossible not to love!

Caroline also reported today that her sister had given birth to a baby girl giving her another reason to smile. We hope mum and baby are both well and look forward to hearing more about Jeffrey in the coming weeks.

Country Homes & Interiors

Monday, February 20th, 2012

February’s Country Homes & Interiors magazine features an article all about loving cats, dogs, horses and hens. Now whilst we are big fans of all animals and do have some lovely gifts for cats, our range of dog couture will certainly not be suitable for hens. Or horses for that matter. But if you want to keep your pooch warm and stylish then why not have a look at the yellow Wilmot cable-knit dog sweater as seen in the lifestyle magazine.

Paul Smith with Lenny & Lola

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Here’s legendary fashion designer and cycling lover Paul Smith, who recently visited the trendy Bike Shop cafe in East London. Paul is holding Stylist Magazine‘s fashion loving pug Lenny, who is wearing one of our Tweed coats.

This second photo shows Paul Smith with Lola who is wearing a LoveMyDog Elwin quilted dog coat.

Lauren & Dougal

Monday, February 13th, 2012

Lauren is from the luxury online designer fashion store my-wardrobe.com so obviously knows a hot look when she sees one. There is no chance that she and her fab French Bulldog Dougal will feel the cold at the moment thanks to the LoveMyDog Wilmot collection (the first to feature complementary items for human and pooch). Don’t they look gorgeous rocking their matching red cable knit scarf and sweater?

If you’re looking for a warm sweater for a pretty pooch then LoveMyDog have plenty to choose from here. But if you need a jumper for someone with just two legs, you will certainly have more luck heading to my-wardrobe.com.

Yip

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Tracy Brown’s appliqué pop art combines her interest in graphic design and working with fabric. She combines carefully chosen fabrics to capture the essence of her subjects in a way that is both fun and true to life and has previously exhibited at the local Brick Lane Gallery.

We certainly love this fun picture. Tracy Brown does take commissions, so perhaps we should send her a picture of Rabbit and some LoveMyDog Harris Tweed fabric?
