New Spring Collection

Monday, May 9th, 2011

The Spring Collection is about to be launched, and I’ve had a sneak preview. This is the Elwin dog coat – quilted on the outside with a corduroy collar and lined with Tattersall check on the inside. Very town and country. As a mere dog myself, I don’t understand all this fashion mwah, mwah dahling stuff that goes into Lilly’s designs, but I do remember her being very inspired by a Diego Velazquez exhibition a few years back. She’s even kept a postcard all these years, waiting for inspiration to strike.

Get ready for those April showers

Friday, April 1st, 2011

You know what it’s like when you come back from walkies and your paws are all muddy. Time for a good old rub-down from your owner. Lilly always gives my pads the once-over with one of her designer towels. It’s ultra thick and fluffy – really does the job a treat. Now, for the month of April, Lilly is doing a one-off designer dog towel, in a limited edition of just 30 per colour.

Special offer – Free Appliqued Initial

Lilly is offering all my canine pals the chance to buy an authentic Love My Dog towel embellished with your own initial in cotton corduroy and the classic bone motif. It comes in a set of two towels for £35. All the towels come with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

To order, just visit the online shop and make sure they let know your initial at the checkout. It will be embroidered on by hand here in our design studios in trendy Hoxton, specially for you. Don’t dilly-dally though as Lilly only has enough of the special fabric to make thirty-two towels. It’s a genuine limited edition so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Hats off to Charity!

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Help us do a great job raising money for projects at home and abroad.

At last there’s a way we four-legged creatures ‘can’ine join in. I’ve persuaded Lilly, the head designer here at Love My Dog, to create a special edition of our Deerstalker hat in red velvet. And all profits go to charity.

Just like our famous tweed Deerstalker, it’s got a little brim, a button on top, and earflaps you can tie up or down. And it’s individually hand-crafted.

Help us by buying your faithful friend a Red Deerstalker. The more we sell, the bigger the cheque we’ll be handing over. With your help, who ‘nose’ how much we’ll raise.

As well as our well known dog & cat charities we will also support: Young people & mental health, Young people & alcohol, Illegal trafficking of young people, Alzheimers , domestic abuse, mental health, young carers & local communities. If you have a Charity of your choice that you would also like us to donate to please get in touch.

Just call me mellow yellow

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Our yellow Fisherman’s Mac Raincoat from the Spring 2009 Collection is suddenly super popular. We’ve had to make up some extras here in the studio for all the orders that have been flooding in. Chloe, one of the assistant designers here has been cutting them out – look at all that wastage. Lilly was oohing and ah-ing over the colours and patterns it makes – but that’s because she sees everything as a designer. I just want to jump in and play!

Your dog photos

It’s always great to get feedback from our customers but even better when it comes in a card with photos!

Have a look at the gorgeous picture of Charlie Leach who loves his tweed dog coat from Love My Dog.

Charlie is 10 and a half and his Thornproof dog coat helps to keep him nice and cosy. Thanks to Tina for taking the time to send us the card and for her kind words, “Good customer service is so hard to find these days and it was an absolute pleasure in dealing with you”.

If you want your dog to look as smart as Charlie, then have a look at our tweed chic dog products.

It’s my birthday today, I’m four!

Friday, January 14th, 2011

As the official Love My Dog muse she’s always trying new designs and samples on me. Here I am when I was a puppy on Lilly’s bespoke tweed blanket. Lilly loves using pure wool in her designs and it’s deliciously warm and soft. With the coat to match I’ve never shivered once, even when we were out in all that snow. Cant believe I’m four today, hope I get a big juicy bone for my birthday!

Stylist Magazine

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Stylist (Britain’s best new magazine) had a fantastic Christmas Gift Guide for 2010, compiled by Morag Paterson.

After scouring the country for the most stylish, thoughtful and useful Christmas presents around Morag chose Love My Dog as the sole pet product. Needless to say, I was very happy that the new Red Tartan Harris Tweed dog collars made the list. They are available in sizes for all breeds and suitable all year round, but very fitting for Christmas in red!

Get yours in the online shop.

Professor Snowball

Monday, November 29th, 2010

It was Jonathan Ross’ 50th Birthday a couple of weeks ago. His present from screenwriter wife Jane Goldman? An adorable puppy who has been named Professor Snowball.

After seeing so many sweet pictures on Twitter by Jonathan Ross, LoveMyDog creative director Lilly, couldn’t help herself. She designed this personalised gift set for French Bulldog Snowball, as photograped and tweeted by the celebrity chat king himself.

Red Tartan Harris Tweed collection launches

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Spoil your pooch with brand new Red Tartan Harris Tweed collection from Love My Dog. Featuring a dog collar, dog lead, dog coat, dog blanket and a dog bed the new range is the work of Creative Director Lilly Shahravesh.

The new Red Tartan Harris Tweed Collection from Love My Dog

The Love My Dog Red Tartan Harris Tweed cloth is a new and exclusive tartan design. It’s 100% authentic, and woven in the Hebridean Islands by weavers who have passed their skills down from generation to generation. All items in the new collection are then hand finished in Love My Dog’s London studio.

“When I first learnt about the process of genuine Harris Tweed and what it actually entailed I was amazed. There is a fantastic history and heritage of this cloth and I realised how important it was to support and celebrate this. Its great to respect that process and produce a handmade collection of such a high standard and quality” Lilly Shahravesh, Creative Director of Love My Dog.

Genuine Harris Tweed

Harris Tweed has been described as “the Champagne of fabrics” and is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament. Genuine Harris Tweed must be made from pure virgin wool. This wool is both dyed and spun on the Hebridean Islands, before being hand woven at the home of the weaver.

Today, Harris Tweed is the only hand woven fabric produced in commercial quantities. The yarn production process uses specially blended yarns produced to secret recipes and then warped before being sent to weavers homes to be hand woven by means of skills which have been handed down from generation to generation. The cloth is then returned to the mill to be finished to very high standards and the final stage in the process is examination and certification by the Independent Harris Tweed Authority.

Sunday Times Style

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

I had a lovely surprise when I got back from Italy last week after checking out some amazing leather for our new dog collars & leads. A friend informed me that a Love My Dog toy bone had been featured in a Sunday Times Style magazine supplement over the weekend.
