LoveMyDog’s creative director Lilly Shahravesh was recently interviewed for Period Ideas magazine.
We’ve included some of the highlights from the article below.
The thing I like best about my house is…that almost everything in it has come from over 15 years of browsing bric-a-brac in Brick Lane and from my travels abroad.
My favourite place in Britain is…the Outer Hebrides where I worked with the islanders to design my own Harris Tweed which we called ‘Hoxton Tartan’. I love the fact that it’s all handwoven by the islanders in their homes from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides. I was also struck by the colours and beauty of the rugged landscape – and all the sheep.
When designing I’m often drawn to…London. I’m really lucky beacuse I only need to walk out of the studio door for inspiration. It’s a really creative area, full of street art, eccentric characters, fashionistas and a mix of cultures. The Geffrye Museum on my doorstep is a gem that not many people know about – right in the middle of all the madness on the streets.
My motto is…‘learn from your pet’ – be faithful, loyal and good company.
